Holiday volunteer season
Is every post two deep?
Paste the posts and the roster for one event day. The page draws it as an org chart and marks every half hour on every post: a named person and a named backup, no backup, or short. Shift-slots, double bookings, lead gaps and the briefing are checked free in your browser. Ask for the coordinator's check when you want a fix per post, a briefing card and a message for the open shifts.
1 The plan
Headings: Event: Date: Hours: Lead: Shift length: Posts: (one a line: Check-in | 2 | 8:00-12:00) Roster: (Check-in: Ann Leesworth 8:00-12:00; Joe Kimrow (backup), or a spreadsheet paste with name, post, start, end) Shift leads: Briefing: Contacts:. Tag (backup) and (first time).
2 Anything else
The rules the page uses
- Size bottom-up: people at once x hours / shift length = shift-slots.
- Two deep: a named person and a named backup on every post, every half hour.
- One lead per shift gives live direction.
- Arrive early: 15 minutes, 30 for first-timers.
- Every briefing: what each post does, who to call, the conduct and safety script.

What the page sees
4 Get the coordinator's check
Metered. The check reads the plan and the grid, gives every post a status with a quote, a reason and one fix, lists the posts to add, writes a briefing card for the start of each shift and a message asking for the open shifts, and says two deep, patch or rebuild. The page holds every status to its own grid and every quote to your plan.
Take it with you
The .csv lists every volunteer with their post, role, arrive-by time (15 minutes early, 30 for first-timers) and shift, plus every slot still open and every backup still wanted - ready for a sign-in sheet. The ask is a message for your volunteer group, built free from the grid.
